Good news for Knoxville! The Brookings Institution, a national research organization, ranked our fair city 99th among the world’s 300 largest cities for its economic performance in 2014. Austin, TX, was the first U.S. city to rank at 38th.
Knoxville’s employment growth rate was 2.4%, compared to 1.6% nationally. It was classified as “recovered” from the Great Recession.

Other Tennessee cities, Nashville and Memphis, ranked 86th and 235th respectively.
